I did a skin type test on Paula’s Choice Australia online a few months back as I was in the market for a new gentle cleanser. After completing the skin test it picked out what is, in my opinion, the best gentle cleanser to achieve hydrated skin.

Let me start off by saying, the skin type test is amazing and I wish more brands did this, but I suppose this just adds to the list of reasons as to why Paula is the best Choice. After completing the skin test, I was given a number of product recommendations which would work together with my skin type, to achieve my desired results.

Paulas Choice say that the Hydralight One Step Face Cleanser is an exceptionally gentle gel cleanser used to effectively remove impurities and makeup while delivering a refreshed, refined complexion without dryness or residue. The thing that stood out to me most was that they say even the most sensitive skin types can use this carefully formulated cleanser.

I say basically the same thing. I’ve never really used a cleanser that I have gotten along with as well as this one. Its a gel consistency, which I have come to realise is my favourite type of consistency in a cleanser. I always hop out of the shower feeling completely clean, free of any makeup and juicy and hydrated.

I’ve also noticed that it has never broken me out, a little product goes a really long way and it is incredibly hydrating, my skin doesn’t feel dry and tight after I’ve used it. Which is a huge plus for me, as I don’t think theres anything worse than having that feeling.

To use, just apply a small amount of cleanser to you damp ski with gentle, circular motions. Rinse well. If I have forgotten to take my makeup off before the shower or don’t have my face halo, I’ll repeat this step just to make sure that I have really gotten into every nook and cranny, removing any leftover makeup or dirt.

I bought the 237ml and is $29.95, however Paulas Choice regularly have a promotional sale meaning you can grab it for less. From my research it looks like they only sell their products on their own website, and don’t wholesale out to others. I’ll repurchase this one again and again, maybe next time even in the 473ml so it lasts even longer.
